Mustafa Zahid to fill in for Falak Shabir at ABES Eng College, Ghaziabad

MUMBAI: Pakistani singer, Falak Shabbir, popular for his song ‘Mera Maan Kehne Laga’ from the film ‘Nautanki Saala’, has cancelled his upcoming performance at ABES Eng College, Ghaziabad, on 17 October, 2015, due to visa issues. He was scheduled to perform for the college’s annual festival- Genero. It has now been learnt that ‘Bhula Dena’ singer, Mustafa Zahid, will be filling in for Shabir.

ABES Engineering College’s official Facebook page announced the cancellation of Shabir’s performance, saying, “Due to some unforeseen international issues, unfortunately Falak Shabir is not coming to ABES this season. But we won't disappoint our people. Now we are going to have MUSTAFA ZAHID with his band ROXEN !!!! Big Sorry to the Falak Fans. But now the things would get better than you could have imagined. Rest remains the same.”

Radioandmusic.com also spoke to organisers of the event, and on the condition of anonymity a student from the organising committee said, “Falak Shabir, like many other Pakistani artists, did not get a visa to come to India. Thus we contacted Mustafa Zahid, who is a Pakistani singer but is already in India. Our college is more than happy to welcome such a great artist.”

Talking about his upcoming performance, Zahid said, “It is great to perform in this part of the world. I am looking forward to perform at ABES Engineering College with my band Roxen, as I love singing live for college students.”

However, when quizzed about the reason he is in India, he remained tightlipped, simply saying that he is working on a very special project.

Recently, Pakistani singer- Ghulam Ali Khan's concert was cancelled in Mumbai and Pune due to political furor.
