Prakash Jha's 'Jai Gangaajal' to have about 14 songs

MUMBAI: Well-known producer/director/screenwriter- Prakash Jha will treat movie fans to a whole lot of music in his upcoming film. The ‘Raajneeti’ director will feature more than a dozen songs in the new film- ‘Jai Gangaajal’.

The news definitely comes as a surprise to Jha’s fans and followers, considering his general style does not include a lot of songs. However, he will be making an exception this time. According to a reliable source, “This is the first time ever that a Prakash Jha film will have 14 songs.”

The songs will apparently have a typical UP flavour, and they will be a mix of Maithili, Bundeli, Awadhi and Bhojpuri. “The film will have a lot of folk music, something that Bollywood has not experienced in a long time,” added the source.

The music of the film is being composed by popular Bollywood composer duo- Salim Sulaiman, and the lyrics are being written by Manoj Muntashir. Recording for these songs will begin by the end of this month.

‘Jai Gangaajal’ is being produced by Prakash Jha Productions and Play Entertainment, and it stars actor/singer- Priyanka Chopra in the lead.
