Singers need to keep their independent music alive: Shibani Kashyap

MUMBAI: ‘Sajna Aaa Bhi Ja’ singer Shibani Kashyap has decided to explore new avenues, musically. Along with providing vocals for Bollywood projects, the singer is simultaneously working on getting more into the independent music space.

Talking about focusing more on independent music, she averred, “Singers need to keep their independent music alive, apart from all that is happening in Bollywood. It is important for artists to come up with their own personality through music. I am striving to do that at the moment.”

She has collaborated with Indian band Astitva, and has almost completed a single with the band. “The mixing of the song is currently going on. Once that is done we will begin working on its video,” confirmed the artist. “The song is about friendship and I want to promote friendship within the fraternity with this single.” Kashyap will also soon be collaborating with well-known Indian rock band Parikrama.
