Mukesh Bhatt to direct new anthem for 'Swachh Bharat' campaign featuring Sachin Tendulkar

NEW DELHI: An anthem that has been penned for ‘Swachh Bharat’ campaign by the renowned lyricist Prasoon Joshi and sung by Shankar Mahadevan, Babul Supriyo and others, is expected to be released on the eve of Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary on 2 October.

The song was written in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for a ‘jan andolan’ to make the Mission successful.

The celebrities have come together to enthuse and inspire citizens to join hands in realising the collective dream of a ‘clean India’.

The anthem was composed by musical trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, and sung by Shankar Mahadevan and other playback singers, will also feature a video produced by Mukesh Bhatt.

Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar has contributed to this endeavour by reciting a few lines that will specially feature in the anthem, as well as providing various musical suggestions for the recording. Tendulkar also took to Twitter to talk about his participation.

The teaser of anthem which goes, ‘Dam Damak Dam Dam Damkega India-Cham Chamak Cham Cham Chamkega India’, was recently released at Rashtrapati Bhawan.

This is not the first time an anthem is released for ‘Swachh Bharat’ campaign. On 2nd October 2014, when ‘Swachh Bharat’ campaign was announced for the first time, the government also released a song featuring Kailash Kher.
