Deepali Sathe records for a Marathi project

MUMBAI: After debuting in Bollywood with the song 'Yeh Kaise Jagah' from 'Hamari Adhuri Kahani', Deepali Sathe, is now testing the waters in Marathi music. The singer recently dubbed the Marathi song 'Asa Kasa' from the film 'Shinma'. The track has been composed by Varun Likhite and lyrics are penned by Jay Atre.

"I have known Varun sir for a long time and after he listened to 'Yeh Kaise Jagah', he called me to record 'Asa Kasa'. He just told me that the song is romantic, and put in the feelings of a girl who has fallen for a person deeply," said Sathe. The recording was completed in an hour, and Sathe is happy with the way the music video has turned out.

Having worked in Bollywood and the Marathi music industry, Sathe finds no major difference between the two musical fraternities. "Language is the only real difference in both. Almost everything else is the same," she explained Sathe. She has also recorded a few other songs in Marathi, which will release soon. The album has three songs, of which, one is an item number sung by Anand Shinde.

Speaking about making the music for the film, composer Likhite said, “A friend of mine introduced me to Milind Kavde (director) and I got him to listen to one of my songs. He loved it, and asked me to create an item song, then 'Asa Kasa' and then the theme song. That is how I ended up doing the entire project."

Additionally, Likhite is also composing for a couple of untitled projects.

'Shinma' is slated to release on 27th November, 2015.
