MUMBAI: DJ Aqeel, popular for creating hit remixes like ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’, ‘Hum Beewafa’ and ‘Chalte Chalte’ will now compose music for Bollywood songs. While he did not reveal much about his new venture, the film projects he is working on are expected to release next year.

“I have composed a few songs for Bollywood projects, which will release next year. There are a lot of EDM influences that you will hear, and I hope people will like my music,” said DJ Aqeel. When asked which of the two he pick- composing or DJing, he laughingly said, “I would love to do both. The thing is I have always concentrated on making remixes, but I am excited about this new venture.”

The DJ will also be performing at Hard Rock Café, Andheri on 11th September, 2015 and he feels that the venue is going to be a full house. “I will be playing some remixes, some EDM tracks and a few others that I have created, especially for the crowds of Mumbai. And as usual, I am sure the city will give me a great response, and there will be no space to stand,” he added.

Aqeel also stated that he thinks Hard Rock Café Mumbai and Pune should open their doors to EDM as the genre adds newer elements to venues, and also because people are constantly in search of new music.
