Ankit Tiwari gets unplugged about the roller coaster ride of the year 2014

Bollywood singer and music composer Ankit Tiwari

Year 2014:

In 2014, I experienced a variety of emotions. I faced both happy and sad moments. There were phases which were a bit stressful, but everything worked out at the end. Only in these tough moments, I realised who was really with me. Some tough lessons learnt, but at the end, it taught me that the people, who are close to you, might ditch you. But those who love you without even meeting them, by this I mean my fans, they will support you endlessly. So I really enjoyed my life this year.

Thought process during lowlights:

I always remained positive no matter what. I would have been scared had I wronged anyone or had I cheated anyone. I haven’t done any of it. I would particularly thank the media and my fans for supporting me not matter what. With the love that they showered on me, I would have been crazy to be negative.

Family support:

Apart from the media and my fans, my family supported me unconditionally regardless of how nasty the situation got. I had composed music before ‘Aashiqui 2’, which did not get enough recognition and suddenly there was a buzz about me all over the place. Suddenly I was nowhere again, being regarded as a one song wonder. Then things went well after ‘Galliyan’, so this was a continuous process, and it did not matter to them. All they asked me to do was keep working hard.

Reasons for songs not working:

A few songs got accepted and a few did not do well. There could be various reasons for my songs not working, be it not being promoted well or maybe the video was not that great or the songs were not used properly in the film. But the only satisfaction I get is that my fans never said that my song was not good.

Wish list for 2015:

I would want to work more and more, make good music and entertain my listeners. Also I want all of us to be happy and would want India, as a country, to progress. There is enough misery in the common man’s life, so I want my songs to spread cheer.

Future projects:

Currently I am waiting for the video of the song ‘Dil Darbadaar’ to be released. Also another project of mine is a duet for the Bipasha Basu starrer ‘Alone’. The song is penned by Abhendra Kumar Upadhyay and the song is sung by Sukriti Kakkar.
