Badshah has always inspired me: Singer Payal Dev

Indian playback singer Payal Dev recently composed a mind-boggling hit track called Toxic along with Badshah who wrote the lyrics for it.  The song has achieved massive success with its views and reviews and have made an impact on the audience.

Payal Dev who has immensely contributed for her music in films like Kaabil, Race 3, Bajirao Mastano is overwhelmed by the response that Toxic has received.

In an exclusive interview with Namrata Kale from Radioandmusic.com Dev has shared interesting insights about her experience working with Badshah and much more.

Check below.

Can you tell us your experience working for the song?

My experience for this song was really good because it was different from my other songs so far. This was an experimental track also because we wanted to know if we create such song then what sort of  response we get from the audience and specially after so much appreciation for Genda Phool we decided to put a slow cinematic song.

How was ur experience working alongside Badshah?

Working with Badshah is always a good experience ofcourse, I have even worked with him in my past projects. This was completely different song that he was also working on for first time, even he had not done something like this before. Well, my experience was really good because Genda Phool obviously was a big hit and Toxic again we are getting a good response. Badshah is a great human being and it's really great collaborating with him, he shares his thoughts and ideas which we can present in the song and what would be the song tone and all inputs.

In what way has Badshah inspired you? What are some of the takeaways you would take from the experience you had working on the song?

Actually Badshah bhai is a family only so he started his career from zero and the same with me as well, even I started from Zero, we never had a godfather in the industry and we never had a great background in the start, as we belong to a middle class family, even dreaming about this world is something big, so that's the reason we have a similar thinking, Badshah has always inspired me, even more people and the new comers

What are you doing amid the Covid-19 lockdown? How are you spending ur quarantine time?

We are at home in this lockdown and we try spending our time by cooking, painting, watching films and watching web series, shooting vidoes from home.  We are actually having fun and we are not regretting at all for this lockdown. Sometimes definitely we feel to move out if the house but then safety matters.

Could you please elaborate on your upcoming projects.

I have a lot of songs in the pipeline and I'll be collabrating with diffierent artists for different genres of song. Specially after success of Tum Hi Aana, I am working on a sad love ballad which will be out soon.
