RJ Malishka picks her top 10 tracks of Amitabh Bachchan

MUMBAI: It is no secret that RJ Malishka is an ardent fan of Bollywood’s Amitabh Bachchan. When talking to Radioandmusic.com, as part of her ‘Editor for a Day’ role, the bubbly RJ offered her list of favourite songs of Big B, which she thinks every fan should listen to.

Jaha Teri Yeh Nazar Hai:

This track from the movie 'Kaalia', is a must have in every Amitabh Bachchan fans' playlist. The song is sung by Kishore Kumar, and composed by RD Burman. The song is famous for its catchy and groovy tunes and lyrics, even though it begins with gibberish words like “Dhing tapapat dingri pa pa,” which syncs well with the guitar in the background.

My Name is Anthony Gonsalves

This track from 'Amar Akbar Anthony' is not only famous for its tune, but also for the way Big B makes his entry into the song, sitting in a huge egg shell. Bachchan, along with his co-star in the song- Parveen Babi, look great. The track is crooned by Kishore Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan, with music composer duo Lakshmikant Pyarelal creating an unforgettable tune.

Yeh Kaha Aagaye Hum

Like most Yash Raj Films, this song is shot in one of the most exotic locations, with colourful flowers and snow filling up the screen. But what is even more enthralling, is the sizzling chemistry between Rekha and Amithabh Bachchan, which is amplified by heartwarming vocals of Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Kumar! What else would anyone want? This song from ‘Silsila’ is composed by Shiv Hari.

Apni Toh Jaise Taise

Known for its heavy-beat, disco type music, ‘Apni Toh Jaise Taise’, from the film ‘Lawaris' is an exceptionally entertaining track. Composed by Kalyanji Anandji the song is crooned by Kishore Kumar. The icing on the cake is Bachchan’s dancing.

Kabhie Kabhie Mere Dil Mein

The soul stirring track from the film ‘Kabhie Kabhie’ is shot on the snow capped peaks of Kashmir.
The track that features Amitabh Bachchan and Rakhee is a treat to both, your eyes and ears, thanks to vocals by Mukhesh. Not to forget the mesmerising lyrics by Sudhir Ludhianvi.

Rang Barse

Once again the on screen crackling chemistry between Rekha and Big B is something that one cannot miss out on. The song from the movie ‘Silsila’ is based on the festival of Holi and is sung by Bachchan himself, with music composed by Shiv Hari.

Dilbar Mere Kab Tak Mujhe

We do not know just how many people must have sung this track to their crushes to impress them, but we are guessing there must be many. ‘Dilbar Mere Kab Tak Mujhe’ from ‘Satte Pe Satta’, features Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini, and will make you warm and fuzzy inside with vocals by Kishore Kumar.

Juma Chumma De De

Bachchan’s attitude right in the beginning of the song, while calling out to his beloved Shilpa Shirodkar, is just unmatchable. With that comes the signature step of this fun dance number. The track went on to become a cult hit and is still played at many parties. It is sung by Sudhesh Bhosale and Kavita Krishnamurthy, and composed by Lakshmikant Pyarelal.

Say Shava Shava

Put on your dancing shoes before you listen to this track from the film ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’. While Big B is not the youngest of B-town’s actors, he certainly does not let that stop him from shaking a leg. Composed by Aadesh Shrivastav, vocals for the track are rendered by Alka Yagnik, Sunidhi Chauhan, Udit Narayan, Sudesh Bhonsle, Aadesh Shrivastava and Bachchan, himself.

Chali Chali

The track ‘Chali Chali’ from the movie ‘Baghban’ is kind of a Valentine’s Day song, and the way senior Bachchan dances to this track is something you do not want to miss. Vocalsby Alka Yagnik, Hema Sardesai, Bachchan, and Aadesh Shrivastav are completely in-sync with the composition by Adhesh Shrivastav, making this an amazing track.
