Beginning a new era of music with these promising young singers

MUMBAI: As variety is the spice of life, our music industry is flourishing with a variety of new talent every then and now. No Bollywood movie is complete without music because of the taste of the Indian audience. There has come a completely new generation of music with fresh voices and fresh talent. With the singing of the newly arrived singers, there comes a new age to music.

Some of the most talented new musicians are on the board. 

Jasleen Royal

The cool carefree artist first got recognition when she was qualified as one of the semi-finalists in the first season of India’s Got Talent in 2009. The singer was 18 years old at the time. Jasleen, 24, broke the ice by winning an award for the Best Indie Song at the MTV Music Awards India 2013 for the song ‘Panchi Ho Jaava’, composed and sung by Jasleen. Later MTV featured this particular song on MTV Roots. An official video of the song released featuring Jasleen.

Entering Bollywood with her song titled as ‘Preet’ in the movie ‘Khoobsurat’ starring actor Sonam Kapoor and Pakistani actor; Fawad Khan helped Jasleen gain immense popularity because of uniqueness in her singing style. Royal is giving a tough competition to her other co-singers with singleness in her voice.

Darshan Raval

The contestant of Yo Yo Honey Singh reality singing TV show India’s raw star, Darshan Rawal did not win the show but still managed to steal everybody’s heart with his singing. Before participating in Raw Star, the singer was associated musical band with name DipZip. Singer-songwriter and music composer, Darshan Raval who loved for his solo singles, lent voice for the TV show ‘Badtameez Dil’ which ultimately bagged him a romantic number from ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’.

Raval recently sang a song in the movie, ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ and his recent work ‘Ye who Chaand’ from Himesh Reshammiya’s film ‘Tera Surroor 2’ is all set to release.

Neha Kakkar

The top-notch singer is a combination of both beauty and talent. Cheerful in person, Neha Kakkar started her journey by being in Indian Idol second season in 2006. Sister of singer Sonu Kakkar, Neha is doing equally well in her music profession. By releasing album Neha RockStar with music composed by Meet Brothers, Kakkar faced the first break of her life and never looked back. Apart from being a popular face in Bollywood, Kakkar is famous for her exclusive singles.  After giving up a number of nocturnes like Second Hand Jawani, Botal Khol, London Thumakda, Dhating Nach, Aao Raja, Sunny Sunny, Kakkar’s singles also very well liked by the listeners. The bubbly singer works with her music director brother Tonny Kakkar when it comes to singles.

Vivacious singer loved by the audience is set with her songs in upcoming movies, 'Mastizaade', 'Ghayal Reutrns' and so on.

Armaan Malik

The young and promising singer son of Daboo Malik and brother of Amaal Malik is arguably 'the new voice of the year'. Coming from the well established musical family, Malik is no less than a refreshing talent. A finalist in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs, Malik eliminated at the seventh position. Still he came to a position at such a young stage by giving competition even to the music geniuses. Malik has sung for over 200 commercials and about 16 films. Recently, the 20-year-old singer received a Filmfare RD Burman Award in the new music talent. ’Main Hoon Hero Tera’ from the movie Hero, turned the life of Malik and made it difficult for the listeners to avoid his melodious singing.

Ami Mishra

The composer of the song ‘Hasi’ from the film ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’ witnessed huge success after his composition. With an MBA degree and secured job in an MNC, Mishra could not stay away from music for long and later continued with his passion towards singing.

Mishra has now become an inspiration for those who are unable to follow their career in music.

Sanam Puri

The singer with a killer smile from the Band ‘Sanam’ has a huge fan-base on YouTube. The singer known for reviving old music along with his band members is a fresh voice of the youth. Puri debuted in Bollywood with the song ‘Dhat Teri Ki’ and settled his position as a playback singer. Another hit number, ‘Ishq Bulava’ from Hasee Toh Phasee, followed the singer’s success.

Singers like Sanam are the new youth icons with a bright future ahead.
