Ten must have songs in playlists for this winter

Spring passes and no one remembers

Summer passes and no one remembers

Autumn passes and no one remembers

Winters passes and one remembers….

That is the beauty of winter. It is not merely a season which just comes and goes, it is ‘the season’ of perseverance. A season that defines love, the moments of intimacy and warmness for the soul is cold winter.

It is a season in which one enjoys some lethargic moments. The beauty of winter is in the inactiveness it creates. Just as we need a blanket in winter to cover our body up, similarly, we need music to bestow warmth to our souls. During breezy winter nights, a hot cup of coffee or tea and suitable music can do wonders to our life force.

We listen to music according to our mood. Take the case of summer, when we need to listen to some peppy and energetic numbers to reboot our energy. In winters, we need some soothing numbers. The following numbers are a must have in most playlists for this winter:

Ye Haseen Waadiya Ye Khula Aasman, Roja (1992)

Any playlist would be incomplete without this most romantic and wintery composition of A.R Rehman from the Film Roja.

Kabhi Mein Kahoon Kabhi Tum Kaho, Lamhe (1991)

This composition is so full of ecstasy! Composed by internationally acclaimed classical maestros Shiv-Hari with Sri Devi and Anil Kapoor on the screen …

Kabhi Kabhi Mere Dil mein mein Khayal Aata Hai, Kabhie Kabhie (1976)

A must listen tender hearted song for all generations! From the movie Kabhie Kabhie that was directed by the legendary Yash Chopra. The song was picturised on Amitabh Bachhan, Shashi Kapoor and Rakhi.

Khul Kabhi, Haider (2014)

The most under rated song of Arijit Singh that evokes passion in this lovey-dovey winter season

Bahon Ke Darmiyaan, Khamoshi: The Musical (1996)

Indeed this track is poetry in motion featuring Salman Khan and Manisha Koirala.

Pashmina, Fitoor (2016)

Recently released, this song from the movie Fitoor seems to be everybody’s favourite. Composed and sung by Amit Trivedi.

Ye Dhuan Dhuan Sa Rehne Do, Tumsa Nahi Dekha (2004)

A tranquillizing dose to subtly change your emotions and sooth you deep inside during chilly weather is this song sung by Roop Kumar Rathod.

Zara Zara, Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein (2001)

Listening to this song seems to indicate that romance is in the air. The cosy lyrics and music give warmth to the soul in the cold.

Sooha Saha, Highway (2014)

This is a lullaby that will take you from the highway to heaven. Alia Bhatt is not only a great actor but also a brilliant singer. She proves it here in this song sung by her and Pakistani singer, Zeb Bangash.

Abhi Na Jao Chodh Ke, Hum Dono (1961)

To bid adieu winter with a heavy heart, this classical hit steals the show. The evergreen stars Dev Anand and Saadhna‘s chemistry with Mohammed Rafi and Asha Bhosle’s voices makes for a deadly combination for the listeners.
