Tum Mile

Music: Pritam,

Lyrics: Kumar & Sayeed Quadri,

Rating: 2.5/5,

Label: Sony Music

Music director Pritam sticks to basics for Tum Mile - no experimenting. One can probably figure out from a distance that its definetly him.

Opening with the title track of the film, Tum Mile surely sounds addictive. With Neeraj Shridhar singing the fast tempo'ed version, Javed Ali on reprise version and Shafaqat Amanat Ali's on rock version of this title track, the song does get a new spin each time.

Dil Ibadat is another radio-freindly track on the album. Sung by KK, the song is a love ballad - we know singer KK hardly misses out on tunes like these. However, the rock version of the same song fails to do the magic. Lyrics of all the songs are great and does contribute a lot to the songs. Kudos to Kumar and Sayeed Quadri who effectively bring out the forlorn feel to the album.

The next, Tu Hi Haqeeqat by Javed Ali has intresting arrangements, but if you listen to it after Dil Ibadat, you may feel as if it was a prelude! Very close. Mohit Chauhan is great on the fast paced is Jahaan Mein; the melody may take a while to register though. The album also includes theme music 'Soul of Tum Mile' - an intresting background score laced with ambient sounds and string sections.

Earlier it was alleged that Pritam lifts tunes of other known/unknown artistes. Alrite, that maye be over now. But there is this new thing which makes one wonder - is Pritam repackaging his own compositions now?!

Tum Mile is a great score, and will definitely do well commercially, but having said that, it still makes one search for newness and creative innovation. Well, enjoy till it comes.
