bachna ae haseeno

Music: Vishal - Shekhar

Label: Yash Raj

Our Rating: 3/5

Music composer duo Vishal-Shekhar have become synonymous with youthful, new flavoured club music. But they deliver more than they seem to promise. With Yash Raj's new offering, the much hyped Ranbir-Deepika-Bipasha starrer Bachna Ae Haseeno, they explore more styles of sounds and exhibit a uniquely packaged music album. The various permutations and combinations of singers certainly lifts the album from the realm of the ordinary.

'Khuda Jaane' is a hardcore romantic song with new hearthrobs, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. This song will grow on Vishal-Shekhar music lovers. Shilpa Rao's seductive and sensuous voice complements KK's powerful vocals on every note. Lyrics penned by Anvita Dutt Guptan seem okay, but they sound exceptional in the singers' voices. The remix of this track is fairly good, the reason being the original is a class apart itself.

Lucky Boy is a typical Vishal-Shekhar track. Crooned by Sunidhi Chauhan, Lucky Boy's lyrics are well-tweaked in her potent voice. The chorus of 'Lucky boy' done by new find Raja Hassan, sounds particularly captivating. Hard Kaur's thanda presence in the song puts one off, though.

And then you have Lucky Ali singing along with Shreya Ghoshal. Aahista aahista is in many ways like Yuva's Khuda Hafiz, probably due to the striking resemblance between Ali and A R Rahman's voice. However, no one can deny that the first-rate music stands out and leaves the listener wanting for more.

For music lovers who have not heard enough of Shekhar Ravijani, Jogi Mahi is the song! His voice is exploited to the hilt in this particular track and gels well with Sukhwinder's distinctive voice. Newbie Himani Kapoor lives upto one's expectations too. She does a fine job of the Punjabi vocals. The lyrics by Guptan are a good blend of Hindi and Punjabi and fit well into the music. The shaadi music doesn't fall in the same age ol' slot, rather offers much more!

'Small town girl' will give a 'Dil dance maare' feeling. It's Shankar Mahadevan's essense which makes the song rich and colourful. Guptan's lyrics again have a great impact on the composition. Vishal-Shekhar have put the song together in a unique fashion and this one is sure to be a hit!Bachna ae haseeno's title track, the original Rishi Kapoor song sung by ever melodious legendary Kishore Kumar has been boxed well. Along with Kishore da's original magical voice, Sumit Kumar's vocals add to the magic. Vishal Dadlani's rap in English lyrics too add flavour to the track.

Minus remixed versions of every track in the album, Bachna ae haseeno has something unique to offer. This one is sure to be a hit amongst the young buds. Vishal-Shekhar continue their reign on young minds!
