Zee Cine awards 2007 honors musical excellence

Mumbai: Celebrating the channel`s 10th year with glamour, Zee Cine Awards 2007 were held on 1 April in Malaysia recognizing the excellence in Hindi cinema across various categories. A.R. Rahman bagged the award for Best music director along with ad man Prasoon Joshi receiving the Best lyricist award for Rang De Basanti.While Beedi Jalaile from the film Omkara was honored has the best popular track of the year, this upbeat song also won Ganesh Acharya the `Best Choreography award`. Adding o the award list for Omkara, Salman Afridi got the Best Song Recording award and Best Background Music went to Salim-Sulaiman for Krrish.

Meanwhile, amongst the nominations for playback singers, Alka Yagnik won for `Tumhi Dekho Na` from KANK in the female category and Shaan won for `Chaand Sifarish` from Fanaa in the male category.

The glittering event, attended by the Bollywood biggies, was hosted by celebrated director Karan Johar, actors Saif Ali Khan, Urmila Matondkar and Shilpa Shetty.
