Veteran radio broadcaster Hope Gaur passes away

NEW DELHI: Hope Gaur, a veteran and popular broadcaster and former senior producer of All India Radio (AIR), passed away.

Ninety-year old Gaur breathed her last after a brief illness. Gaur had headed the Western Music Department in the AIR till her retirement in 1983.

Born in Lucknow on 12 October 1922, she worked with AIR for over 30 years.

She had initiated several popular programmes in the Western Music Department, and had personally hosted popular programmes like A Date with You and The Forces Request.
