Venkatesan organizes musical concert for SOS

MUMBAI: Seasoned singer Tara L. Venkatesan organized a musical concert 'Music 4 kids by kids' for SOS children's village of India. The concert was held at Kamani Auditorium in Delhi on 21 May.

The concert started with prayers by the children, followed by music programmes of western classical. The singing was supported by pianist Svetlana Radashkevich, violinist Raja Singh, flautist Mikhail Ushinin, Gabrielle Bodda- Rechner and Situ Singh Buehler.

While the first half of the concert was based on classical music theme, the second half witnessed Tara performing Broadway hits. During the intervals, children from the French school gave their various performances.

SOS President S. Sandilya says, "Tara's willingness and responsiveness towards the cause of children initiated the unique association with SOS Children's Villages of India. 'Music 4 kid by kids' is not just our humble contribution to the cause of deprived children but also an attempt to demonstrate our solidarity with them."

The concert was attended by Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and Minister of Social Justice & Empowerment, Meira Kumar.
