Shruti Hassan makes her television debut with MTV Rush

MUMBAI: Singer/Actor Shruti Haasan who made her acting debut in Bollywood with the 2009 action drama ‘Luck’, will perform in MTV’s new show ‘Rush’.

The actor will perform on her own song and dance number in the show directed by the Shaitan fame director Bejoy Nambiar. The 13 part series will feature 12 young people whose paths get interlocked over two days in a college festival.

Speaking on her participation in the show, Hassan said, “Rush is actually shot like a film, which is why I agreed to do it. I also loved the concept of the show. I didn’t look at it as a TV show and I have no plans of doing TV anytime soon.”

Shruti Hassan is the elder daughter of noted actors Kamal Haasan and Sarika. She received  critical acclaim for her role in the Walt Disney fantasy film Anaganaga O Dheerudu, Oh My Friend, 3, and 7aam Arivu. In 2012, Hassan starred in the Telugu remake of Dabangg ‘Gabbar Singh’. She has also rendered for Tamil and Hindi films.
