Shamik Talukder returns to Mirchi as national head, Activations

MUMBAI: Shamik Talukder has been named the National Head for Mirchi Activation, a vertical of the Entertainment Network India Limited (Radio Mirchi Group) that works to organise and sponsor events that facilitate as an alternative source of revenue for the company.

With over 13 years of experience, Shamik has worked across sections of Media namely Television, Radio, Outdoor and Internet with companies like Times OOH, Sony Entertainment Television, Radio Mirchi, Indya.com, Star TV and Mid Day Group.

Commenting on his appointment, Shamik Talukder said, I am very happy to be back in Radio Mirchi after a gap of five years. I was a part of the launch team of Radio Mirchi and have proudly seen it grow and expand. The challenges now are different and I look forward to taking the Mirchi Activation business to a different level....

Prior to joining Radio Mirchi, Shamik had launched and managed VIA OOH as co-promoter. Under his guidance, Times OOH bagged the advertising rights for the airports in Delhi and Mumbai. Talukder was also responsible for after sales for West and East during his stint at SET India. In the past, he has worked with Radio Mirchi as Sales Head, North.

Earlier, he was part of the launch team of the FM radio network of Radio Mirchi and served as the Sales Head, North.
