NEW DELHI: Those with an ear for digitally-savvy music can now take part in the first-ever SanDisk Singathon... - a Karaoke contest with a trip to Dubai as a prize – that commences on Saturday in Gurgaon, Noida and Delhi.

SanDisk Corporation, which specialises in flash memory products, will hold the contest till 30 October across popular malls, college campuses and commercial hotspots in Delhi. Through this contest, SanDisk aims to reach out to music enthusiasts of all age-groups and create awareness about SanDisk's comprehensive product portfolio, including memory cards ranging from mobile phones/cameras/camcorders and mp3 players.

Says SanDisk India & SAARC country manager Manisha Sood, This Karaoke contest gives us a great platform to reach out to the tech-savvy consumers who want to do more with their digital devices – store more music, listen to more songs and/or even save more videos, ringtones and games amongst others. While the Indian consumer, especially the youth segment is increasingly demanding more out of their digital gadgets, surprisingly very few realize that with the simple addition of a large capacity storage card, they can unleash the potential of their devices to a great extent....

The activity will also be extended to popular college campuses and commercial hotspots in South Delhi. At each SanDisk booth, contestants will be able to select from a playlist comprising popular songs from different genres of music including Pop, Rock, Classics, Bollywood, Hip-Hop etc., and record their rendition of the song on a mobile device with the SanDisk 8GB MicroSDHC/M2 memory card. The action will also be captured in parallel on a digital camera / camcorder with the SanDisk 8 GB memory card. Winners will be selected at regular intervals through the day at each venue and get to win a range of exciting prizes from SanDisk.

From amongst the selected pool of winners, 12 finalists will be shortlisted to participate in the finale to be held at the Ansal Plaza amphitheater on 30 October 2008. The lucky grand finale winner will win a trip for two to Dubai. All the other final participating contestants will be given prizes from SanDisk.

SanDisk has partnered with Delhi's Big FM, 92.7 to create buzz and hype around the contest. The channel will host an entire evening show live' from the venue for the grand finale, where the selected finalists will also be able to meet with the Big FM's RJs Ravi and Nitin.
