Saga Music acquires regional music label Lucky Star

MUMBAI: Expanding its repertoire of regional and devotional music, Saga Music has now acquired a regional music label �Lucky Star' with focus on Punjabi content.

Through this acquisition, the music label will add to its catalogue over 125 albums released by Lucky Star in five different languages. The albums comprise tracks from singers including Anup Jalota, Anuradha Podhwaal, Gur Sewak Mann, Manjit Roopowalia, Munna Aziz, Ravinder Grewal, Suresh Wadekar, Surjeet Khan and Vipin Sachdeva.

Saga Music business-head Alipt Bhatia said, The deal is a part of our strategy to further consolidate our business by expanding our portfolio in genres where we've already built a forte. We also look forward to seeing artistes advantage from our combined synergy with Lucky Star in distribution and the distinct brand equity of the respective labels....

In addition to Bollywood, Saga Music owns music of over 15 Tamil movies including the  blockbuster 'Poonar Shankar' and of Punjabi singers including Harbhajan Maan, Hans Raj Hans, Salim, and Gurdaas Maan.
