MUMBAI: After the recent warnings by political parties to radio stations asking them to air regional music, Marathi is suddenly the flavour of the month. Joining the Marathi Music brigade is Red FM which has announced a new show catering to the regional tastebuds, The Swapnil Joshi Show'.

The two hour show which went on air on 18 July will entertain the listeners with a dose of contemporary Marathi and Hindi music with Swapnil Joshi as its host. The show will take the listners up close and personal with famous Maharashtrian icons, and be privy to their work and life. The afternoon weekly show will air in five cities across Maharashtra - Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Nagpur and Aurangabad.

Talking about hosting the show Swapnil Joshi said, I'm very excited to be a part of the Bajaate Raho station, Red FM. Hosting this show is going to be challenging and fun at the same time as this is going to be my first stint as an RJ and that too with my favourite radio station. I intend to make the most of this opportunity bestowed upon me by Red FM....

Commenting on launch of the new show, Red FM senior VP projects and programming Nisha Narayanan said, In house research proved the changing trend in the music preference of our weekend listeners towards Marathi music. We at Red FM saw this as a great opportunity to get our audience to connect with their roots and be entertained at the same time. Reflecting the changing patterns and demands, The Swapnil Joshi Show will have a little of everything for listeners on Sunday afternoons. The listeners will be treated to stars like Bharat Jadhav, Sachin Pilgaonkar, Nirmitee Sawant, Kedar Shinde and Mukta Barwe amongst others....
