Radio One launches `Family No. 1` this Ganesh Chaturthi

Just fresh from its research numbers of great growth, Radio One FM92.5 is growing from strength to strength with innovative interractive programming. This year for Ganesh Chaturthi, apart from creating vignettes with celebrity interviews and updates from various mandals, the radio station went one step further by hosting the breakfast show from houses of a few lucky chosen listeners.

Says Brand Radio One- V.P. Programming- Vishnu Athreya, "All of this week, Sangram and Jaggu have left the cosy confines of the Radio One FM 92.5 studios to celebrate Ganesh Utsav with their listeners. Sifting through the thousands of invitations, we shortlisted 6 households with the primary criteria being the amount of food available for Jaggu."

With producer, sound engineer and a truck load of transmission equipment, Radio One FM 92.5 team headed to Dadar, Bandra, Vile Parle, Chembur and so on. Traversing the celebration filled streets of Mumbai, the duo `broke in to` high rises and chawls alike, broadcasting their popular show from the streets of Mumbai under the watchful eyes of Lord Ganesha. Hearts filled with devotion (and stomachs filled with laddos!) RJs Sangram and Jaggu chatted with the Pandit, Parekh, Vyaas and Shetwe families and their friends.

"The idea was to take the show to the streets so to speak. The show still had its usual characteristics of being real fun with great hit music, just that this time it was done with the listeners at their houses. The challenge was to entertain our hosts at their homes as well as millions of listeners tuned in," adds Athreya.

So tune in to Radio One FM92.5 all week long and grab a dose of all the action every morning between 7 am and 11am.
