Radio One appoints Vineet Singh Hukmani as CEO

MUMBAI: After keeping the top slot vacant for almost four months, Radio one has announced the appointment of Vineet Singh Hukmani as its new CEO.

Confirming this, Mid-Day Multimedia managing director Tariq Ansari said Hukmani would join Radio One in mid-September. "We have some exciting plans for growth in the metro cities across media platforms and Vineet will be a valuable member of our core strategy group aside from running the FM radio operations. Vineet`s experience in radio, music and advertising will help us in defining what urban radio in this country is all about and strengthen synergies across our newspaper, radio and digital plays," he added.

Hukmani is currently serving his notice period at Cheil Communications as COO of India and South West Asia.Vineet was among the team that set up Worldspace in India and launched Indigo Radio for BPL Innovision. He is the lead singer of the `Balle Balle Boyz` who have released three albums with sales over a million copies. He has also worked in Saatchi & Saatchi and Mudra communications.

Radio One CEO Rajesh Tahil had quit in April. Currently operating in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai, Radio One is soon to commence operations in Ahmedabad, Pune and Kolkata.
