MUMBAI/ BANGALORE: The nation is gearing up for what is considered the ultimate act when it comes to the international psy-trance circuit. Infected Mushroom's- Erez Eisen and Amit Duvdevani (also known as 'Duvdev') have been stalwarts in the genre for over a decade now and their live act is known to be a high energy performance complete with psychedelia and unparalleled musicianship.

The dynamic, shaven-headed Duvdev and his flowing-haired partner, Erez Eisen, have been playing to increasingly massive, frenzied crowds all over the globe, thanks to an explosive live show that is a far cry from the staid stereotype of dance acts hunched over their computers.

For Infected Mushroom's Indian visit beginning 5 November, international DJ Ma Faiza will open the show in Bangalore. Ma Faiza is one of India's premier DJs and has played in festivals and clubs across the country and at major venues and festivals across the world including the Glastonbury festival and Ibiza. "I'm expecting a huge crowd of dedicated trance lovers at the show and I think Bangalore will enjoy this since the laws have been going against music for a while in the city. I'm very excited", says Ma Faiza.

In Hyderabad, opening sets will be played by DJ Ivan and Whosane, both of whom have a considerable fan following across the country. In Mumbai, DJ Murthy and DJ Randy will get the ball rolling while DJ Steve will take over after Infected Mushrooms' performance.

Infected Mushrooms is scheduled to perform at HICC Novotel Accor Hotel in Hyderabad on 5 November, at the Palace Grounds in Bangalore on 6 November and at Enigma at the JWT Marriot on 7 November 2008.

With Duvdev bouncing all over the stage and exhorting the crowd to belt out the lyrics, Erez virtually dances with his keyboards, tour guitarist Tommy Cunningham (or, on selected dates, Israeli axemaster Erez Netz) firing off metallic riffs and Brazilian drummer Rogerio Jardim boosting the Mushroom's programmed beats with propulsive polyrhythms, the band has whipped audiences worldwide with both their music and stage antiques. The band is an enormous hit in the party circuits of Mexico, Los Angeles, San Diego and the whole of Latin America.

Duvdevani is of Indian origin and spent most of his life in Israel where he met Aizen about 12 years ago in Goa. In 1999, they released their first album, The Gathering. While the band talks of this album as a humble effort at making music with the use of a barely functional home studio set up, it was undeniably a trend-setter. Ever since, the band has come a long way, releasing hits like Hara Gobi and the incredibly popular Converting Vegetarians. Their most recent album Vicious Delicious (2007) is true testimony of the duo's genius.

The bands influences are The Doors, Yahel, Swollen Members, Matisyahu and Juno Reactor. The band also forays into Metal, Electronica, World music and Latin music genres besides psy-trance.
