President unable to attend 1st Guwahati Intl Music Fest

MUMBAI: The President of India has regretted her inability to attend the first Guwahati International Music Festival to be held on 2-3rd December 2011.

The fest organized by Eastern Beats Music Society and NEZCC, Dimapur will be participated by more than 30 top National and International artistes including Brendan Power (United Kingdom), Abhaya Subba, the Steam Injuns (Nepal), Pt Manilal Nag, Mayukh Hazarika, Kalpana Patowary, Joi Barua, Guru Reuben Mashangva, Edwin Fernandes, musicians from Goa, Abiogenesis and many others.

In a letter to the EBMS secretary regretting her inability to be part of the landmark event because of some other developments, the president expressed her warm wishes to all those involved in the festival and wished GIMF a grand success.

The curtain raiser was held a couple of weeks back with performances by Internationally – acclaimed Menwhopause, Hornbill 2099 winners OFF and a few other bands.
