MUMBAI: Ormax Media has announced the launch of RJ Files, one of the first syndicated study on radio jockeys in the country  The bi-annual study, conducted among radio listeners in Mumbai and Delhi, is aimed at a comprehensive understanding of various aspects of Radio Jockeys.

RJ Files is touted to provide answers to key questions that impact the success of an RJ, including - what makes the best RJs tick, how important are RJs for a station, how do different listener segments react to RJs, what traits should an ideal RJ have, and more. The study also measures the popularity of RJs, and the factors that contribute to the popularity.

The data for each city will be analyzed and reported across various segments such as age, gender, SEC, city zone, usage behavior, station preference etc.

Speaking about the study, Ormax Media CEO Shailesh Kapoor says, In a cluttered environment, where all the stations play Bollywood music, RJs can play a key role in creating appeal and building differentiation for a station. RJ Files was borne out of a felt industry need, about wanting to know what made RJs work with listeners. It will also provide a ranking of RJs, which can be used by radio stations for programming, marketing and sales strategy. Being a bi-annual study, RJ Files will help stations track movement of listener preferences of RJs over time....

The first round of RJ Files has been conducted amongst 600 listeners each in Mumbai and Delhi, in the 15-44 yrs, SEC ABC segments
