Now TV launches K-Pop channel in Hong Kong

MUMBAI: PCCW's IPTV platform now TV in Hong Kong and KMTV Asia have announced the launch of KMTV, a K-pop channel.

KMTV supplies nonstop music videos and live performance of the hottest Korean stars and groups. The channel features music series such as M Countdown and M Super Concert and awards shows Golden Disk Awards and Mama, as well as K-pop idol specials featuring the likes of Wonder Girls, Super Junior and Girls' Generation.

KMTV Asia CEO Byun Kwang Min said, "K-pop stars have massive loyal followers everywhere in Asia, where fans at present can only watch their idols through the Internet or limited DVD products in the market. We look forward to providing a 24-hour K-pop channel for the fans in Asia, particularly Hong Kong."

PCCW MD of TV and new media Janice Lee said, "Korean artists and music have become increasingly popular in Hong Kong in recent years. KMTV will fulfill the need of many devoted fans especially the younger generation who wish to follow their idols' activities closely."
