Nitin Sawhney on a promotional tour in India

MUMBAI: UK-based musician Nitin Sawhney along with his band is all set to kick-start his first tour in India. The tour will commence from 3 February in Delhi followed by Nashik on 5 Feb and Mumbai on 7 February.

The concerts will be a part of promotion tour organized to support his ninth studio album �Last Days of Meaning.'

Speaking on his first performances in India, Nitin Sawnhey said, I look forward very much to my first trip to India with my full band. After playing concerts to packed houses across the world for over two decades, it feels incredibly reinvigorating to return to the land of my heritage with some of my favourite musicians and singers on the planet.  We are all so enthusiastic to bring our music to India....

Sawhney is also recording with the London Symphony Orchestra for �The Lodger', one of Hitchcock's early silent films which will be released on DVD in 2012. The artiste will also conduct a live screening of the film as part of the Cultural Olympiad Entertainment program in London at the Barbican Centre on 21 July 2012.

The acclaimed musician is also writing, directing and producing a theatrical production �Einstein Tagore' which is based on conversations that took place between Albert Einstein and Rabindranath Tagore in 1930, which is schedule to make its debut in 2013.

Nitin Sawhney has also been composing for the film �Midnight's Children' directed by acclaimed filmmaker Deepa Mehta, which is due for late 2012 release. The Canadian-Indian production is an adaptation of the award-winning novel by Salman Rushdie.
