Nelly Furtado`s `Loose` touches 6.1 m in sales

MUMBAI: Global sales of Nelly Furtado`s third album, Loose have surpassed the 6.1 million mark, according to Universal Music Group.Loose has also racked up 7.4 million digital singles sales worldwide and 4.4 million in ringtones, the company claims.

This week, Loose will celebrate its 60th continuous week on theBillboard Top 200 Album chart, where it debuted at number 1 after being released on 20 June 2006. The album also recently returned to number 1 for the second time, on Billboard`s European Top 100 Album chart where it is currently at number 2.

Loose has been certified gold in 31 countries and platinum in 23 countries worldwide.Furtado has been nominated for Female Artist of the Year honors at MTV`s Video Music Awards, airing live on 9 September 2007 from Las Vegas.She is also nominated for the Teen Choice Award of Choice Music: Female Artist. Plus, she is included in Choice Music: Single nomination for "Give It To Me," by Timbaland featuring Nelly and Justin Timberlake. Teen Choice airs live on Fox Network Sunday 26 August 2007.
