MUMBAI: Winning an award at New York's Syracuse International Film Festival for Fashion, and bagging an Emmy nomination last year for Nickelodeon USA's show Wonder Pets serves as proof of their immense talent and diversity as music directors in a worldwide context.
Sons of composer and veteran of the Telugu film industry in South India, Sadruddin Merchant, Salim and Sulaiman have become Bollywood's popular music directors who have their name associated with significant Indian and international projects.
Next in the pipeline for the composers is director Siddharth Anand's upcoming film Anjaana Anjaani starring Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor which is due for release this Sepetember. The musical pair has composed background score for the film
Talking about their other forthcoming projects Sulaiman said, We have a few International projects in hand but I cannot reveal much about them right now. Apart from that, we are composing music and background score for �Band Baaja Baraat' which is a Yash Raj Film production...
We are also composing music for the film Action Replay which will be releasing on November 5. The film is directed by Vipul Shah and the cast of the movie includes Aishwarya, Akshay Kumar, Neha Dhupia and Randhir Kapoor,... added Sulaiman
Action Replay is a time travel comedy tale that rolls back to Mumbai in the fifties. The film is based on 1994 Gujarati Indian play of the same title.
Me and Salim are also composing a song for a Telegu film produced by Disney,... said Sulaiman happily
The duo has already composed background score for Kites, Fashion, Dhoom I and II, Chak De India!, Wanted, Krrish, Kurbaan and many more and added hits like Yeh Honsla (Dor), Kurbaan Hua (Kurbaan), Show Me Your Jalwa (Aaja Nach Le), Khudaya Ve (Luck), Ali Maula (Kurbaan), Mar Jawan (Fashion) and Haule Haule (Rab Ne Banadi Jodi) to their kitty.
Merchant brothers had also produced and composed a special Africa song for Soccer World Cup FIFA this year which is a great feat for India.
