Monica Nayyar elevated as EML Jt. MD, Malaya Mishra Choklate CEO

MUMBAI: Monica Nayyar Patnaik has been elevated to the position of joint managing director in Eastern Media Limited, Odisha. The media house has also promoted Malaya Mishra as the CEO of its non-print division which includes radio.

Earlier, Patnaik was the director of the radio arm of Eastern Media Limited, Radio Choklate. As a part of her current responsibility she will also be looking after the group's print business, Sambad.

Talking to Radioandmusic.com about her new appointment Patnaik said, I would be overlooking the business of radio and print. It is already the number one newspaper in Odisha, however, we are looking forward to better ourselves. A series of innovations, technological advancement and next practices will further strengthen our position....

The conglomerate has also elevated Malaya Mishra to the post of CEO of non-print division which includes radio, television as well as its other entertainment properties. Prior to this appointment Mishra was the director of Eastern Media's entertainment division.

Speaking enthusiastically about his new role Mishra said, "In my capacity as the CEO of Radio Choklate, I will be overall incharge of the station including the sales, marketing as well as the technical operation."  He will reporting to Eastern Media Limited chairman Soumya Ranjan Patnaik.

The station will also see few more appointments in the coming month. "We will have additions in the team within a month, as per the requirement," added Mishra.

Patnaik is the founder of the group's radio business. Radio Choklate is operational in the cities of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Rourkela.
