BANGALORE: The recently held Mirchi Music Awards South in Chennai will be telecast on 1 August in Andhra Pradesh (AP), Tamil Nadu (TN) and Karnataka.

The awards will be aired at 9 am on Star's Kannada offering Suvarana and at 4 pm on Star's Tamil channel Vijay and Zee Telugu (AP).

The show, meanwhile, will be telecast in Kerala on Star's Malayalam channel Asianet Plus on 15 August at 11 am.

Though none of the players, Radio Mirchi and Mirchi Activation, are willing to reveal the details of the deal, industry sources claim that at least in some cases, the deals are based on pure barter, with the respective channels and Mirchi Activation selling a predetermined ratio of airtime.

According to Mirchi Activation, the company has dealt with the selected channel in each state independently. Each deal is different,... says the source.

Uninor is the anchor sponsor for the show across all channels.

Some of the other brands involved with the event include LIC and TVS Tyres as co-sponsors and Bharati Cement , Nippon Paints and Margadarsi Chit Fund as partners. The other brands associated with the Mirchi Music Awards South 2009 include Parthas (in Kerala) and Chennai Silks (TN).
