Mirchi claims 16 mn plus reach

MUMBAI: Radio Mirchi has claimed a national reach of over 16 million people, quoting the just released Indian Readership Survey 2008 (Round II) results.

According to Mirchi, the Media Research User's Council (MRUC) led results indicate that despite being operational in only 32 cities, Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM caters to an audience of more than 16 million min number. Only All India Radio (AIR) and Vivid Bharti reach out 20 million (approx) each which are operational beyond 150 towns. Also, the findings highlighted that Suryan and SFM put together reach out to about 8 million people which is half the reach of Radio Mirchi, says a release.

Radio Mirchi has also acquired the number one position in terms of total listenership across Delhi and Bangalore in CUMES and TARP (Target Audience Rating Points) on an average over the last 52 weeks. The stations also claims leadership in Kolkata for 20 weeks.
