MUMBAI: Meow 104.8 FM has introduced Meri Meow, a social network for fans of India's first 'just for women' radio network. Radio Meow COO Anil Srivatsa says,
"The website is essentially a medium to expand your network; a common platform for the Meow family to facilitate interactions between the listeners and the radio jocks. This is just a small version of our planned website, much more is coming."

Srivatsa also has his own blog on Meri Meow, where he shares his life experiences and carries out polls on topics to be discussed on his daily late night show, 'Between the sheets'. The new feature already has 3593 recently added members across both genders, says Srivatsa.

To become a part of Meri Meow, the users need to log in with a username, create individual profiles, upload their pictures and chat just like other social networking sites. The members can then further post blogs, discuss issues, leave comments and interact with each other. The website has groups dedicated to RJs and their respective shows on air where the RJs can talk about the probable topics for discussion as also receive feedback from
the listeners.

After venturing in metros - Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata, the India Today Group's radio initiative has launched in Amritsar and Jodhpur in June. The network is awaiting its official launch in Patiala and Shimla. Commenting on Meow venturing into small towns after the metros, Srivatsa states, "The exposure of listeners in these towns is less as compared to metros, but we have seen tremendous response within a short time. Our call volumes have increased and the time span spent on radio listening has also increased."
