Mauj inks deal with major regional labels

MUMBAI: Strengthening its musical & mobile content positioning in the country, Mauj Mobile, content and mobile marketing services provider has announced its partnership with country's major regional music labels including INRECO, Hindusthan, Manorama Music, JS Audio, Vani and Audio Tracs.

The combined consortium of these music labels will allow Mauj to hold a significant market share of catalogue music & movie content across Tamil, Malayalam, Punjabi, Marathi and Bengali speaking markets, hence providing it a pan-India presence.

The three year and extendable partnership gives Mauj exclusivity to distribute its content over all mobile channels. The content provider already holds a large mobile consumer base garnering remarkable download numbers and is planning to expand its market across regions in the country.

Music and movie enthusiasts can address to a wider repository of approximately 15,000 tracks of music and also avail a mixture of interactive content of films in the form of ringtones, graphics, video clips, CRBTS, themes, animations as well as colour logos, which will be distributed by Mauj Mobile.

With the consortium releasing hit movies from across regions, mobile consumers will now have access to 40-50 new tracks every month across various genres right from  retro music, bringing in the nostalgia value, to classical to devotional songs and would also help the consortium to market their upcoming movies. Further, consumers can now download full Songs of some of their leading singers like  Ilaiyaraaja, Padma Shri K.S Chitra and various other artistes from the Bengali music industry like Shreya Ghoshal, Babul Supriyo, Srikanta Acharya and Anesha along with availing special features like dialogue tones and video ringtones.
