MUMBAI: The grand finale of the seventh edition of Asianet’s Star Singer had seven finalist fighting neck-to neck with each other. Before Thrissur based Malavika Anil Kumar was declared winner of Sunfeast Delishus Star Singer Season 7.

Kumar received flat worth Rs 50 lakhs sponsored by Confident group, first runner-up Reshma received Rs 10 lakhs sponsored by Swayamvara silks and second runner up Aslam got Rs 5 lakhs sponsored by Devi Pharma. Varsha from Thiruvananthapuram secured the third runner-up spot in the grand finale.

National Award winning composers Shankar Mahadevan and MG Sreekumar; and Carnatic singer Anuradha, were judging the show.

Shankar Mahadevan was seen cheering during the first Medley Round. On asked by the host Rimi Tomy to provide his view on the contest, the ace composer quizzed the reason why the contestants were given flats and cash, instead of helping them with launch an album. Mahadevan also performed before heading to the Jury chair. Sreekumar and Anuradha praised the Star Singer Season 7. They stated that no previous edition was as energetic and brilliant and this edition.

Padma Shri winner Jayaram and Asianet MD K Madhavan and other leading celebrities from the world of film and music attended the event. Tini Tom and Rimi Tomy anchored most of the show.

The grand finale of Sunfeast Delishus Star Singer Season 7 was held on 21 September 2014 at Asianet Studio, Thiruvananthapuram. The show had three rounds which started at 6 pm and ended by 11 pm.
