MUMBAI: Post Kailasa Chandaan Mein release, one of India's most loved LIVE act is now embarking on an overseas tour starting this month with a sole purpose to take their music international. However, not many know that a major part of this tour is going to be self sponsored.

Kher reveals, We are not charging any money for performance, or stay – we would be paying all these expenses from our own pocket. The people who have invited us will only be providing us with a stage to perform.... On being asked why he is doing this, a passionate Kher says, We are going to represent India, for us, that is the biggest thing – this time we'll show them what we are,... he adds with zest.

Kailasa has several performances scheduled at places like Brooklyn Music Festival, Stern Groove Festival, San Francisco, Philadelphia and Houston. The turnout at such festivals is expected to be close to 15, 000 to 20, 000

For this tour, bassist and co-composer Naresh Kamath says they are working on a special repertoire. The band plans to belt out their hits songs like Cherrapunji (from their recent album) and improvised versions of their hits like Tauba Tauba, Teri Deewani, Bum Bhole and Saiiyan.

Speaking about the tour, Naresh Kamath says, We would be touring in three phases, but some dates are getting confirmed, so I cannot speak about them as yet,... he says. That's not all, towards September, the band would be performing at the coveted Hollywood Ball in Los Angeles, confirms Naresh Kamath

Kailasa Chandaan Mein would have released long time ago, but got postponed due to the economic slump, however, that isn't really bothering the affable Kailash Kher. Speaking about the album's late release, Kher feels, Industry people like to get scared – hota kuch nahin hai lekin dar pehle lagta hai,... he cheekily adds, but is quick to clarify, There is nothing controversial about this (late release) on the labels part though – the label simply felt they will release the album after the situation improves....

Kailasa Chandan Mein was released under Sony Music last month and is considered as one of the most matured and experimental offering by the band since its previous releases like Kailasa Jhoomo Re and Kailasa. The overseas rights of this album are with Cumbancha Records, the track list for the international release is modified with two special additional songs – Turiya and Guru Ghantal.
