Indian Idol 6 contestants perform on western tunes in third gala round

MUMBAI: Trying to provide viewers something new in each episode, the third gala round of the singing reality show Indian Idol will witness participants performing on tracks which have been influenced by western tunes.

The episode has 'Western Andaaz' theme and will feature contestants perform on chartbusting bollywood tracks that has music played from western instruments and influences. While Amitabh Narayan will perform on the track 'Akele Akele Kaha Ja Rahe Ho', Poorvi Koutish will render the title track of 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' and Kaushik Deshpande will sing 'Aaja Meri Jaan' from the film Sagar earning the title of best confident performer of the day.

Bollywood actor Imran Khan is the special guest judge who will indulge in some fun moments with the participants. Judge Sunidhi Chauhan will also perform on her track 'Yaariyan' from the film Cocktail.

Earlier in the second gala round of the show, eminent judge Asha Bhosle promised a contestant Devendra Pal Singh that she would attend his wedding whenever he plans it. The comment came after judges Anu Malik and Salim Merchant teased Singh over his mischievous antics.

The show will air on Friday, 20 July 2012.
