MUMBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has asked for proposals from companies interested in producing official ICC audio programming for distribution via radio networks, podcasts and other methods.

The ICC partner will work with the game's governing body to produce, market and distribute regular audio programming containing up-to-the-minute news and interviews about various topics in world cricket, says a PTI report.

It will also include discussion of international cricket tours and events, such as the ICC Cricket World Cup, the ICC Champions Trophy and the ICC World Twenty20.

This is the first time the ICC has looked to produce content in an audio-only format and it is expected the programming will extend beyond the current reach of its weekly TV show ICC Cricket World.

"Cricket as a sport has a long association with audio broadcasts and we hope this show will follow in the footsteps of many fine programmes dedicated to informing listeners about the game," said Brian Murgatroyd, ICC Manager - Media and Communications.
