Ex-Mirchi RJ Meera quits Big FM

MUMBAI: RJ Meera who quit Radio Mirchi to join rival Big FM's Mumbai station two months ago, has ended her association with the station. Meera is currently in talks with another radio station in Mumbai and plans to ink a deal this week.

Meera was a known on the evening slot of Mirchi in Mumbai, but was proferred the breakfast slot when she was poached by Big FM. She was introduced as a Big FM jock at an event to announce the Mumbai station's music repositioning in October. Singer Sonu Niigaam's renewed association as the brand ambassador for the 45 radio network was also announced at the event.

Meera was roped in to host the breakfast show - �Chillax mornings' on Big FM with theatre personality turned RJ Vrajesh Hirjee after RJ Archana Jani quit the station. Jani had been with the station since its inception in late 2006.

Sources mention that Meera's differences of opinion with Big FM led to her resignation after being on board for just a month. The breakfast slot is currently hosted by RJ Vrajesh Hirjee and Rani    

Meera started her radio journey with Radio Mirchi as an OB jock. She was soon given an opportunity to host the night show �Nitrogen' and then went on to be an evening jock. Meera was the sole jock for Mirchi's evening show- Sunset Samosa for a year after which RJ Suren was roped in as a co-jock.
