Elvis Presley to come alive on stage

MUMBAI:  After late singers Tupac Shakur, Jimi Hendrix and Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley aka ‘The King’ will be the next artiste to be resurrected virtually by production company Digital Domain Media Group.

The production company, founded by renowned director James Cameron, will showcase virtual performance of the Rock’n’Roll singer across various platforms. In partnership with Elvis Presley Enterprises, the singer will be featured virtually on live shows, TV and online.

Elvis Presley Enterprises president and chief executive Jack Soden said in a statement, "This is a new and exciting way to bring the magic and music of Elvis Presley to life. His lifelong fans will be thrilled all over again and new audiences will discover the electric experience of Elvis the performer."

The technology was introduced at Coachella Festival in California, wherein the fest featured a computer generated image of late rapper Tupac Shakur performing 'live' with Snoop Dogg. The yet-to-be named technology has also included music icons like Jimi Hendrix and Michael Jackson.

The digital production company has specialized in creating realistic computer-generated humans, and itsE work. They have created computer-generated characters for movies like The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, TRON: Legacy and X-Men: First Class.
