Ek Shaam Rafi Ke Naam - a tribute to Mohd. Rafi

NEW DELHI: Delhiites were witness to a nostalgic evening as singers rendered the timeless songs of the legendary Mohammed Rafi to pay tribute to his versatility on his 31st death anniversary.

Famous Bollywood and Punjabi singer Mika, Bhojpuri actor Manoj Tiwari and others crooned popular songs of the musical genius in Ek Shaam Rafi Ke Naam..., a tribute concert organized by Savitri Vikas Samiti.

Event organiser said, Rafi was one of the most cherished singers of our industry. His songs like Khoya Khoya Chaand, Kya Hua Tera Waada, and Dil Ke Jharoken Mein to name a few are still good enough to give you goose bumps....

The evening was inaugurated by Raj Chopra of BR Films, along with Asian Academy of Films and Television President Sandeep Marwah. Doordarshan news director general SM Khan was the chief guest at the event.

In a career spanning about 40 years, Mohd. Rafi sang over 26,000 film songs, from classical to romantic, qawwalis to ghazals and many more.
