MUMBAI: Sony Music CEO Doug Morris has named Edgar Berger as president and CEO of Sony Music Entertainment International.
Berger will be responsible for Sony Music's operations and regional offices outside the US and will report directly to Morris .
Morris said, "We are delighted to have Edgar heading up our International operations. He has a proven track record of success through his leadership of both the strategically important German market and the larger GSA region. We are excited that he will now apply his talents to breaking artists and driving strategic business initiatives and innovation in our territories around the world."
Berger said, "I'd like to thank Doug for this fantastic opportunity. Sony Music has a tremendous roster of artists worldwide. I look forward to working with our labels, and the teams in all the territories to develop great music, and further grow our business around the world."
Berger has served Sony Music Entertainment as CEO of GSA Region, overseeing the company's operations in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
