NEW DELHI: Pradeep Rana, McDonald’s employee from New Delhi, has been named as the Voice of McDonald’s 2013 winner.

The second edition of this successful employee engagement program received an exciting response from across the McDonald’s system.

Rana amazed celebrity judges and rocked the stage in front of an audience of more than 650 at the grand finale held in New Delhi on 14 June. With a powerful performance of the song ‘Parda hai parda’, he went on to take top honours in the in-house singing contest.

Shamsher Singh from Balachaur (Punjab), George from Dasuya (Punjab) and Daisy Masih from Jalandhar (Punjab) were awarded the first, second and third runners up respectively.

Dilip Kumar Thakur from New Delhi was felicitated with the Viewers’ Choice Award.

McDonald’s brightest singing sensation was awarded a grand prize of Rs 50,000 along with the coveted title of the Voice of McDonald’s 2013. However, the journey does not end here for him as he along with the other winners of this season will take part at the ‘Area of the World’, which is the APMEA Voice of McDonald’s contest to be held in Hong Kong in September 2013.

A panel of renowned music industry professionals judged the final competition. The panel consisted of popular Bollywood playback singer Benny Dayal, music director, composer, lyricist and playback singer Anand Raj Anand and Filmfare Award-nominated playback singer and lyricist Shruti Pathak.

Launched in January, the second edition of the Voice of McDonald’s North & East region received an overwhelming response from the McDonald’s system. More than 700 talented singers entered the contest from across 150 restaurants that were narrowed down to just 12 final contestants.

Voice of McDonald’s is a worldwide contest to discover, recognize and reward the most talented singers from among the crew and managers working in McDonald’s restaurants. The North and East India second edition of Voice of McDonald’s was launched this year in January.

Participation in this contest is open only to people working in McDonald’s restaurants. More than 700 employees entered the competition from Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Kolkata before the field was narrowed down to just 12 final contestants who have been awarded a world-class opportunity to achieve their dreams.
