Bryan Adams to release new album of covers with one new track

MUMBAI: Canadian singer/ songwriter Bryan Adams has announced a brand new album titled 'Tracks of My Years', which will include new covers of a collection of classic tracks from the 50s, 60s and 70s. The album will have 11 tracks and will be released on 6 October this year through Polydor Records.

The album will feature one brand new track, 'She Knows Me', which Adams has co-written with Jim Vallance, his long time writing partner. During the rockers 40 year career, the two have written a number of his popular tracks like 'Run to You', 'Heaven' and fan favourite- 'Summer of 69'. 'Tracks of My Years' will also have various influential music styles like The Beatles' 'Any Time At All', Ray Charles' 'I Can't Stop Loving You' and Chuck Berry's 'Rock & Roll Music'.

"Making the selection of the songs for the album took a long time. We recorded all kinds of songs until the songs sort of presented themselves, or sounded different enough from the originals. We did about three months of recording, spread out over the course of two years," Adams said about the new album. "Radio was king when I was a teenager. You'd hear McCartney's 'Admiral Halsey' straight into 'Kiss and Say Goodbye' by the Manhattans. Radio didn't discriminate back then," he added.

Adams' new album will also be released in a deluxe version which will include 7-inch retro style single covers and five added cover songs, packed in a hardback book.

'Tracks of My Years' is the 'Please Forgive Me' singer's first studio album since his 2008 release '11' after which he released two live albums, 'Bare Bones' in 2010 and 'Live at the Sydney Opera House' in 2013.
