MUMBAI: Having acquired the music rights of Harry Baweja's Love Story 2050 and Tanvir Ahmed's Ada, Big Music is now gearing up for its second innings this year.

The music label has bagged the rights to 69 in-house (produced by Reliance Entertainment) films. This apart, they have also bagged the music rights of Vikram Bhatt's forthcoming film 1920.

Says Big Music CEO Kulmeet Makkar, "Whichever films Reliance Entertainment acquires, the first music rights rest with us. However, if we wish to sell it further to any other music label, we have the liberty to do that."In the immediate round of release, Vikram Bhatt's 1920's music will launch first. Then there is B R Chopra's Banda Yeh Bindaas Hain and the Ahmed Khan production Paathshala, starring Shahid Kapur and Nana Patekar.

Apart from Bollywood, the music label is also tapping the regional market. As per Makkar's vision, regional music is very critical from the film perspective. He explains, "I am referring to Tamil and Telugu when I say regional. When these two are put together, it is bigger than Bollywood.

Hence, our focus is on both Bollywood as well as the south. As far as the Bengal and Punjab territories are concerned, it is more to do with non-film music."
