Big FM introduces fresh programming to Delhi station

NEW DELHI: Big 92.7 FM will introduce a new programming format to its Delhi station starting from 6 August.

The fresh content will comprise of the top 100 chartbusters that will be refreshed every week.

Big FM has announced that the measure is "to make its Delhi station more exciting, entertaining, differentiated and local for its listeners".

The company says that recent research indicates the need for the latest hit music, which cuts across age groups and is especially appealing to a younger audience.

The chartbusters will be prepared based on TV play-outs of music videos, ring tone downloads on mobile phones - which is a indicator to gauge music popularity, music album sales across music stores. This will be supported by research of new song releases conducted across a panel of consumers and play-outs on radio stations.

Big FM COO Tarun Katial said, "We are excited about introducing the 100 chartbuster format in Delhi. It will fulfill a strong need of listeners - which has been proven through research. The music will be engrossing and entertaining, given that it is what the listener wants. We are proud to be the first radio network to bring this unique format to India through our Delhi station."

"The music mix has been carefully selected to only air the top 100 songs throughout the day and will take listener involvement to an even higher level," said Big FM station head Delhi Punit Mathur.
