Big FM Bangalore launches social awareness drive

MUMBAI: Big FM Bangalore has initiated a new campaign to connect with its listeners and address issues faced by a common Bangalorean. Titled 'Bendethu Bengaluru' , the two week long campaign will address one major issue every day , starting 7 July till 19 July 2008

Speaking about this campaign, Big FM Cluster Head Karnataka and Kerala Sunil Kumaran said, "As the leading FM station of Bangalore we are continuously pushing the envelope in terms of content for our listeners. Bendethu Bengaluru is our next big endeavor wherein in a unique, witty, humorous way we highlight issues which affect Bangaloreans. We are extremely happy that many celebrities in the city have come forward to support us in this campaign."
A smart and witty angle will be taken towards every problems coupled with popular celebs on air, adding an element of humour to the issues. Each show will take a specific angle to the topic of the day. The Breakfast and Evening drive time jocks will ask survey based questions on the day topic with one lucky listener winning the 'No thank you' award in every show along with other goodies.

Breakfast show jocks RJ Harsha and RJ Shruthi will take up the top three issues for Bangalore and request listeners to vote for the most popular issue facing the city on that day. The two will then be 'jailed for a day and will be bailed out only when they receive 9027 votes of support from their listeners ', says a release.

As part of the on ground awareness campaign, some of these major issues will be discussed at forums across the city along with local celebrities and government bodies. Hoardings at prominent locations along with floats will sport the topic of the day and request participation via SMS and call-ins, the release adds.
