Beetel launches FM enabled phone

MUMBAI:Beetel claims to have launched the first phone in the country to be equipped with an FM radio with in-built speakers. The DB5900 FM phone enables listeners to tune in to their favorite FM channel, right from their telephones. The FM phone will enhance the use of the telephone instrument, by addressing the entertainment needs of a wide variety of customers, including housewives, shopkeepers, office executives and students. The FM is put on mute whenever there is a call. The FM corded phone, claims the company, can store up to 10 FM channels in the phone memory, besides showcasing the channel frequency on the display panel. The phone comes equipped with an FM on LED indication and also enables tuning in to FM channels in the 88 MHz to 108 MHz frequencies both ways. The corded phone also comes equipped with an anti-line tapping facility that prevents misuse of the phone by parallel phone users and a keyboard mechanical lock to prevent unwanted usage. The other key features of the phone include a talking CLI and a do not disturb function to stop unnecessary interruptions along with a pre-dialing voice announce facility. With a large backlit display with 5 levels, it offers a 12-digit LCD display with calendar and real clock display.

The phone offers 16 melody ring tones and eight real songs that can be set as ring tones that can be adjusted up to four levels. The Beetel DB5900 FM phone comes equipped with a host of other world-class features, including 30 Incoming and nine outgoing call memory, easy dialing features like Auto add `0` in long distance calls and Auto filter local area code up to eight digits, EPABX code, three group alarm times, Tone/Pulse dialing mode compatible, Dual mode (DTMF/FSK) compatible with auto detection and multiple programmable flash timing from 90 to 1000 ms. The phone is available for Rs 1145.
