Mumbai : Music talent show Fame Gurukul product Arpita Mukherjee has debuted into the industry with an album titled Yeh Chand.The album has been tuned by singer Sukhwinder Singh, with lyrics penned by Shakeel Azmi. It has been launched by Crescendo Promotions and Management. Arpita Mukherjee has already established a foothold in Bollywood with Tanuja Chandra`s Film Star, and has lent her voice to the title track of Kuch Meetha Ho Jai for Himesh Reshammiya. Two of her songs will be heard in September 2007, with the release of Ashok Nand`s Riwaaz. In the video of Yeh Chand, Arpita shares screen space with Kuldeep Rohil.
Arpita is a trained artist in Classical, Light Classical, Folk, Ghazal and Thumri and counts Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle and Geeta Dutt among her inspirations. She has also anchored television programmes like Meri Baat for Doordarshan and has been part of celebrity shows on Star Plus and Doordarshan.
Arpita, a finalist in Sony`s music talent hunt Fame Gurukul, also bagged the "Golden Voice" award for Zee`s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.
